One of my sons recently bought a 2013 chevy 2500 4x4 with the 6.0 gas engine and 110,000 miles. He has only had it a few weeks and it looks like he got a lemon. The first problem was a shimmy that turned out to be tie rods, wheel bearings and other front end parts. Now it is back in for front axle seals. He borrowed it to a friend and that guy said the oil light came on and it was so low on oil it didn't show on the dip stick. Took 4 quarts to fill it. Now he did not change the oil when he bought it because the sticker on the window said it had time left, but it was full. I always Change the oil on a used vehicle which he will do from now on. He has about 500 miles on it so far.
So my questions are, is front end worn out at 110,000 miles normal for a chevy? My experience is with Ford's and th at would be way soon on them. Same question for axle seals? Also how about oil burning issues? Seems I've heard something about issues with that with the chef's but again don't know much about them.
He is working with the dealer he bought it from on these issues trying to get them to either fix it or replace it, but even tho they are a large used dealer they are not a chevy dealer.
