LOST ALL HYDRAULICS 4010 JD

I have a 1963 john deere 4010, that i have been using to pull a hayrack wagon with about 20 people in it. It worked great all day, for about 7 hours, then pulling up to the drop off, i lost the brakes, power steering. After unloading the customers, i also checked the 3 point, no lift. So today I drained all the hydraulic fluid, changed the filter, checked the long sceen that is close to the filter. Fluid was very clean, sceen was clean. Filled up and started, no pressure. Cranked down the destroker valve, and then back up 3 times, no good. Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes be sure to check,, some times the splines on the pump end of the drive shaft wear and shear out.

Has there been any degradation of the hydraulic system in terms of performance before everything quit? I'm starting to wonder about an internal leak. The vented filler cap is under the seat. Was there any smell like hot oil before the incident.

no, there was not any sign that I noticed befor it all stopped working. Did not smell anything burnt, and fluid looked clear when drained.

Yes you can see the coupler turning, but it's hard to see if it's
actually turning the pump, look again with a light

Been to long, do those have the long hex shaft to run the charge pump like a 4440 quad-range? It will be a 1/2 square drive plug back by the top 3 points link connection area on the rear end. Pull it out and look for stripped hex section or twisted offf. Sorry, only about 80% sure it is made that way, so may not have it.

Ditto on being sure hyd pump shaft is turning & not just drive coupler turning.

Try watching the shaft turn while you have someone else turn the steering wheel, it may slip as soon as a load is applied.

You could also paint a mark on the coupler and shaft, test it and look if anything has moved.

Also listen for any squealing/squeaking noises from the pump area when you apply a load to the hydraulics.

From what you describe it sounds like you are getting 0 output from the front pump.
I am thinking if something in the hydraulics in the back of the tractor failed, the priority valve would still keep your brakes and steering functional.

I put marks on the splines and the drive coupler, and they stayed together, even after trying steering and 3 pt. I tried the de stroker valve trick 3 more times, no good. I found what seemed to be an adustable valve with a locknut on the bottom frount of the pump, and tried turning it out and in, no luck.

Place a 5 gal bucket under then remove hyd filter cover, turn engine over for 15 seconds there should be about 1-1/4 gal in bucket. If not that much oil in bucket trans pump has failed.
