I watched this video on YouTube. You can see some real neat machines and forests around the world. I have heard of Tigercat logging equipment but really did not know it's history. It is a real testimonial to see how far the company has came in just 25 years.

JDSELLER I worked for Prentice loaders for 39 years and Tigercat was one of many strong loader manufacturers. Sadly Cat bought out Prentice and ran it for few years and closed the doors. I started working for Heikkinen hydraulics in 1967 three days out of high school it was a great place to work. We made a mountain of loaders and sold lots of them to southern states. Randy

In N MN John Deere seems to be the most popular, with similar equipment, that's what the logger used that harvested our plantation last summer. Deere bought Timberjack some time ago, they were a leader in logging equipment 20 years ago. One thing I noticed in the video, when the harvester was sliding down the hillside in loose soil, think of the erosion potential! That was in New Zealand, I'm surprised they allow it, a couple of big rains and all that nice soil will be in the ocean!

Thanks for posting the link to that video, JDSeller. It brought back some good memories. I spent a a year, I think it was 2012, running and fixing equipment for a small logging company. A couple months in we bought a used Tigercat 870 feller buncher and a used Tigercat 630C skidder. Good, hardworking quality iron. I put in quite a few hours on that 630C, it was an absolute beast in the woods. In its day, I think it was the strongest skidder you could get, short of the 6 wheeled variants. The only major issues we had with either machine was the engines. They were both 2003's if I recall correctly, and Cummins 8.3's from that time frame are only good as boat anchors as far as I'm concerned. But beyond that, Tigercat builds some truly cutting edge machinery. There's days I miss logging.
