Slip Clutch Bolt

Is it a shear bolt or a clamping bolt? On a King Kutter they recommend a grade 2, others use a higher grade metric bolt. If it is a clamping
bolt I would use a higher grade bolt.

Some use a special tapered wedge
bolt. If your cutter was originally
equipped with one, it would be
advisable to replace with same type.

Looks like it is conical bolt with no head. Around 18 bucks for it.
Seems to me you could simply drill the one end to match the other and put a regular bolt through it. As one end is slightly larger than the other.
All it does is hold the clutch on to the gearbox spline which is 1-3/8 6 spline. This would fit on the spline like any quick disconnect would except I run the
bolt through it.
All comments are welcomed and thanks for all the help.

nope. The taper wedges the coupling to the shaft. a full size bolt will not go through the hole, and will not wedge. Jim
