Guy ran an ad in local paper few weeks back, looking for carb to go on super c. I called him gave him info on places to call and check. Told me the story of the tractor. Was his father in-law's many years ago he was cutting grass and rolled it , burned him bad. never got the tractor, left it in neighbors field. After he passed the son in law went and got it and slowly restored it. Been using it but some how broke carb where gas line screws in. Ad is in paper again today. Plan to call him a see what carb on it, I'm hoping to find one to give him. Maybe just top half? Anyone one got one or a half one laying around cheap? Thanks Kevin in Central AL (never met the guy just talked to him once on phone)

Super C would very likely have the Carter carb. Some came with a Marvel-Schebler. Most common on the As, Bs, Cs, and Super Cs was a Zenith. Zenith is better than the Carter, and will exchange readily.

The casting likely was broken by over tightening a tapered brass fitting into the casting. I had one like that about 30 years ago. I brazed the fitting into the casting and it is still working. Take carburetor completely apart before you start.

I broke my Zenith by over tightening the brass adapter. The easy fix for the crack was a gas tank repair kit. I wrapped a thread from the patch and covered it with goop,I wrapped it around the brass and covered the whole mess with more goop, I screwed it in as tight as I dared, covered the outside with more goop and let it set for a week. It has held for 20 years with out a leak. Goop is the repair liquid. Just make sure you can get a wrench on the brass so it doesn't move when putting the line on.
