I know a lot of it depends on what part of the country one is in, we have already discussed that. Lots of folks think red belly and jublie fords are worth 2 to 3 thousand but look at this real add for a 2,000 gas $ 1950.00 Older gas and to some extent diesel tractors have just hit bottom right around here. Ford gas 2000 for $1950.00 with good rubber

Doesn't look too special to me, rubber is usable but not new left one appears to have minor cracking between the tread. If it has live pto might be worth it, if not it's a bit overpriced in today's market

Mark ........ So, what would that tractor be advertised for if you owned it and were selling it where you live?

Not what I, call "cheap." I am no Ford expert, but it looks to me it is no different then a 641. Has the 134 engine, four-speed trans with no low creeper gear, and non-live PTO. I have had many a chance to buy in what looks like similar shape for $1200-$1500.

Now if it was the British model 2000 that came out later, with a live PTO and hi-low range trans - it would be a great deal.

I have one here (641) in perfect running condition and with four brand new tires, plus a front-end loader. I tried to get $2500 for it last summer and had no takers.

I guess You can see from the below comments it is always in the eye of the beholder. If one clicks over to the Photo adds no problem finding folks wanting $2500.00 for red belly and older fords. I certainly did not post it saying it was cheap or high just showing those that seem to think the old red bellies are worth so much what one can get a new tractor for. Thing is here in this part of the country it is not what it is worth or what they are asking it is just the simple thing of WHO will buy it at any price. Just more old tractors than they are folks buying them. CL is full of $2500-$4000 tractors that stay on there for days.

Northern Michigan is "here." I gave up trying to sell it. I just bought a brand-new 8 foot Chinese backhoe that is going on the 641. I am then going to stick it in the woods at a camp I have in the Upper Peninsula. It is a solid tractor but also kind of useless. 1st gear is too fast and the lack of a live PTO makes it useless for rear attachments like a tiller or snowblower. I have used it with a 5 foot brush cutter but it is a pain with no live PTO. Maybe now with the backhoe on it, I will get some use out of it. I bought this tractor sort of by accident around 8 years ago. I was 800 miles away when the owner offered to sell it to me and swore it had a live PTO. That would of also meant it had a 5 speed trans. So trusting the guy (since I knew him from non-tractor things ) - I bought it over the phone. I found out a month later it did not have the 5 speed or the live PTO. I don't think the seller lied to me. I just figure he really did not know what a "live PTO" is an just figured if it worked, it must be live? I am also not sure the guy ever used any gear but 1st, so just assumed maybe it was a 5 speed. Oh well.

RE . . "I certainly did not post it saying it was cheap . . "

You have ME confused. The header of the post reads pretty clearly "cheap" 2000 Ford tractor, does it not?

That one has a 4 speed transmission, so it does NOT have Live PTO. Really not much differerent than a Jubilee.
