Used generator

What do we think of a used Makita Generator G2400R for under $300? Lightly used by some older neighbors who only used it a time or two. Would it power my Lincoln Mig welder?

Lincoln says min of 7,000 watt generator to run their Mig welder. Does the G2400R stand for 2400 watts for the Makita generator?

Price may a bit high unless it is truly "like new".

At only 2,400 watts max and 2,000 continuous, it will be way to small to power your welder.

Yep, just looked up specs for that model and it said 2.1Kw with a max load of 2.4Kw. Definitely a smaller unit.

They're asking a decent price, however. Not too high; not too low. Can get cheap 'Made in China' gensets online nowdays - 4Kw for about $200. The Makita should be a little better quality than the no-name.

Just prior to YTK small generators sold for $1000 per Kw. Now generators sell new for less than $100 per Kw.
2400W peak and 2000W continuous is rather small, it will carry a camper without air conditioning if the toaster, microwave or coffee maker are used only by themselves.
