Impossible task. In restoring my 76ish CK loader/backhoe, one item that's got to go is the old beat up radiator. In order to come out it must come forward to get the bottom hose off. ? It can't come forward because it hits the piping for the front mounted hydraulic pump. I did get it out finally by cutting the bottom hose and taking the fan blade off. Problem is how to get a new one in without trashing the bottom hose. But still persistent I see the need for a new fan belt.Loosen the spline drive attachment on the crank pulley and slide it forward , right?. Not , the spline shaft meets the pulley with no space to get the belt out. There's a connecting collar on the spline shaft that appears to connect two sections of spline shaft, but it has no rings or set screws so I assume it's just a coupling. So what's next?. Disconnect the hydraulic piping and pull the hydro pump?? Well now you can put in a new radiator.and a fan belt. Am I loosing it or did someone not think about servicing this thing when they made the add on attachments?? Maybe this is why they invented the red sectional type v belts. There has to be something I'm missing in this venture = ?????

Sometime things in life aren't simple. Man up, pull the pump and take care of your radiator problems and when you put it back together install a second fan belt tied back with tie locks for future use.
At least you don't have to remove motor mounting bolts and lift the engine to change spark plugs like in some modern cars.

PS you can take the grill off, take the two bolts that hold the pump in place out, and the hoses will flex enough so the new belt can be slid over the end of the drive shaft without loosing any hyd. oil.

I have Never pulled a pump off to remove the radiator on one or to change a fan belt either I just remove the two mounting bolts on the hyd pump pry it back and block it in place, done a pile of them in the past 45 years

Well dang, I guess I just have to man up. Hoses are so old they probably shatter if I touch them, might as well get new ones. I guess a high quality fan belt would be in order. I may have not found a "majical method" but at least I was on the right track . Thanx for all the help.!!! I think next time I need a belt I go with the red sectional type. They can be installed without taking things apart, they pull like he**, and they run quiet. They ain't cheap but you can make any length you want.
