Question: injectors on 6.0 diesel f250 ford truck 2006

I got a ford 2006 f 250 diesel engine truck that has 136,000 miles on it. I think I have the fuel injectors acting up on it. Right now I went to ford and bought some fuel injector cleaner and have been running it threw this truck. My question is when replacing these injectors which ones are the best to replace them with. Would you replace them with the stock ones or after mark brand. thanks.
 
There are a lot more things that can make a 6.0 act up than injectors. Unless you just want to spend money and throw parts to it and still may not fix it. Take it to a good qualified mechanic and have complete diagnostics run on it.It could be the High Pressure Pump-A sensor -EGR or Who knows.Just my 2 cents.
 
I believe that there can be a problem with the Power Supply that drives the injectors. There are aftermarket repaired/improved ones available.
 
Thanks again. Yes I agree I will have to bring my truck in and make sure I get a complete diagnose on it. Last time I had it in which was last week I had breaks done. The mechanic told me that I had some issues. So I have been divining the heck out of it and putting in injector cleaner but it still is acting up. he told me that I might have a exhaust leak or a intake gasket leak. I thought they where to different type of leaks. The weather is still looking like winter and yes that four wheel drive pays off to have. Waiting on good weather to take it in and say just do it. Give me the news on what it needs and have them fix it. For now I am not driving my classic 66 G.M.C truck that dose not have 4 wheel drive in mud and snow.
 
I had this issue. There's a metal box on the drivers side under the cowl that controls the voltage. There are capactitors that regular the voltage at 48v. Sometimes they get wiggled out of place or hte solder cracks. You can test the points on top to see if it's actually putting out 48v or only 36 or 24v, which will be the case if a cap is blown or the connection is broken.

It's called the FICM(Fuel Injection Control Module) if memory serves. Search for a test on that and you can get step by step instructions.
 
I'm just going to throw this out there. With fuel injector cleaner you are cleaning the fuel side but the the injectors are controlled by oil. Ford's develop what is called stiction, (google it). Seems people use Rotella and have injector problems. I use Ford oil only. A couple of my injectors started messing up at 150,000 miles or so. I ran som RevX and the problem disapeared, clean the oil side. As a side note I've never really been into "fixes" but RevX worked. I now have 245,000 on the original injectors. Just something to think about if they say you need new injectors.
 
I have 2 suggestions. I have a 2003 that I have almost had every problem under the sun. Rev x is good but if it is an injector use archoil I think it's called archoil 9100. I would also get some of there fuel treatment. I highly doubt it is the ficm. Normally when it goes you won't be able to get it to fire. I don't no the exact method to check it but you CANNOT test it by scanning. If you get on swamps diesel's website I think there are exact instructions. If it is the ficm send it to swamps and get the 54 volt upgrade. It will fire so much nicer. Just my two cents but I have replaced almost everything you can replace on a 6.0 and done a lot of research and trying out different products and treatments
 
In my 6.0 I exclusively used Mobile Delvac 0w-40, 10k between changes, filter every 5k(it's on top, no need to drain to change it). Never had a single oil related issue, injectors included. At 250k on the clock now.
 
The 6.0 has "Dummy" plugs that have o rings that go bad and the high pressure oil pump can't build enough pressure to allow the injector to work correctly. One sign of a dummy plug problem is hard starting when the engine is at operating temperature.

A check of the individual cylinders exhaust temp will tell the tale. A valve adjustment should be done at that mileage anyhow! Fuel Filters would be next. Air filter good? I assume you have no codes?
