About 20 months ago I sold the stand pipe and control valves for a Ford one armed loader here on YT.
The fellow sent me a check and said he was coming out to MN from MI to pick up some other items he had bought and would pick it up that summer (2015)
No problem. Check was good.
But I never heard from him.
A year later I looked him up and called him and he sorta seemed like he'd forgotten that he bought it but said he had had pickup problems the year before but was hoping to get out here this summer (2016). I haven't heard from him since.
It's not in my way really so I'll hold it for a while yet. On the other hand, I'd like to see him get his parts and wouldn't mind seeing it gone.
Kinda wondering what you all would do in a case like this.

Well, we all know the real answer. Since he has pickup problems and possibly other problems he is not mentioning, just send the money back.

Right now I have a Cat 22 crawler a fellow I know that bought it from me in 1981,a Custom tractor that was bought and paid for in 2002,a front end loader that was bought over two years ago.
Also had a bush hog here for about 10 years that I hauled to my place for a fellow from an auction, his son picked it up this past Summer.

I sold two tractors to a guy, he paid me $600 (price was $1000 but he didn't have it on him). Told me he would come back next weekend. Never heard from him. I tried to get ahold of him several times, never could. FINALLY after almost a year I tried calling again, and I talked to his wife. I told her what was going on, and she said "Oh?? Well, we moved about 8 months ago to Utah, so, he's not interested". Like I was still trying to sell them, so I explained to her that I had $600, and I would send it back, and she said she didn't understand the situation and didn't want to give me an address and hung up on me........ I tried calling again a few days later, noting. Ended up just selling the tractors again? :/

I bought a tractor from an outfit on Ebay that was listed as sale only good if tractor was picked up by a years time. He told me that he had a few that had been bought and paid for years ago and he legally couldn't sell them, hence the condition posted on his more recent ads. gm

That's why I have a policy.--Pay for it when you take it and take it when you pay for it.---I will save or hold nothing for nobody. First guy here with the cash gets it. I make that very clear on the phone with first call.

He paid , put it in a corner and keep waitin' . All you can do . Aside from trying to contact him and tell him get it outa there .

I had a tractor turn up here once that I didn't buy, order, or ask for. I returned from vacation and there it was outback. The guy thought that I wouldn't notice it.

I have a friend who sells on eBay motors a lot. Last time I heard, he had taken partial or full payment on 4 or 5 cars that the new owners finally told him to keep the money, and keep the car.
It takes all kinds.
