Interesting Story.......

There was a story in the local newspaper a couple of days ago that said a man was killed when the engine on a tractor he was working on exploded.

Honest, that's all it said. No other details. Like tractor engines regularly explode, killing someone who's working on them.

Sad thing to happen, but ya,would have been interesting to know how. Did it take off and over rev and grenade or what? Curious minds would like to know.

I was watching pulling on TV a while back and one did that. There was a hole clean thru the block. Stuff went everywhere.

Supposedly he was working on a JD3020 lp carburetor and the engine took off, over sped and the clutch exploded, split the tractor, shrapnel went through the roof and walls of an insulated shop enough to see day light. The flying metal killed him, family member was in the office heard the commotion went out to see the victim laying there and yanked the distributor wires off to kill the engine. Wasn't anything they could do for him. Was a jd mechanic for a dealer and was to get married this summer.

I gather from what little I could find he wasn't using the tractor, he was doing repair. Perhaps he was trying to weld a hole in the gas tank.

Wow there was a lady killed here in a traffic accident earlier this week,so terrible especially days before Christmas

My neighbor was given an agco tractor that had been setting and when he fired it up one injector stuck and ended up blowing the jug apart. It was an air cooled deutz.

One of the guys I work witb his 27 year old daughter hit the back of a bus. Viewing was this past Saturday. Nobody is saying but everyone under their breath is saying " Texting".

The newspapers never get anything straight when it comes to farming, ranching or guns, alot of things could have happened, the battery could have blown up or a pto driven part could have flown off and hit him.

You'd be better off simply saying "The news never gets anything right PERIOD." and leave it at that. The amount of misinformation published is incredible. Start with the last "mass shooting" a the U of Ohio where there were NO guns involved on the BG's part!

News reporters have never learn or have forgotten (maybe intentionally) they are supposed to report the facts which are Who, What, When, and Why. Opinions go on the editorial page.
