Tank Snake / Water Wick in Diesel Tank

Wondering if anyone uses a Tank Snake or Water Wick in your tractor diesel fuel tank. Do you leave them in over winter in well below freezing temps or is it best to remove them? Didn't find this info on the product website.

I've come across a coupla that were left in the tank till they plugged up the fuel filter when they came apart.

Haha yeah that's the only experience I have had with them, all the desicant sure wreaks havoc on the fuel system
