Lug nuts on rear wheel 8N

I took my 8N to a shop to be blasted and painted and that worked out fine, actually terrific. When the shop guy put the rear wheels back on, he busted off two lug nuts on the same rear wheel. They are opposite each other but my question is whether or not I need to yank off the brake drum assembly and have the lug nut bolts pressed out or if I can get along with it this way. It will not be used for work, more just show or parades. This company is used to working on Semi trailers so I'm sure they had the air pressure up higher on their compressor.

What say you?

Were it mine, I would have them agree to fix it. They broke it and it is unsafe. You can never be sure you will not be put in a position to need the strength. You do not know that the """mechanic""" that twisted off 2 didn't stress the others! If you cannot convince them to fix it, they are not good business owners. As a service manager if I or one of my technicians broke a customers lug nuts they would be repaired pronto before allowing the customer to take the unit. Jim

Thanks. I didn't even think about the other lug nuts being stressed but that sounds reasonable. I'll go talk to them Monday and see what they think.

Thanks for the comment.

can't believe they let it leave there shop that way, lots of liability involved if something happened

I doubt it being a safety issue, but I cannot imagine a parade tractor with missing lug nuts;so easy to fix.

might fix it, but its also probably not going to hurt, ive had missing lug nuts on my working jubilee for 30 years it works hard, ive never had any trouble due to the missing nuts the problem i have is automotive lug nuts the proper thread size are not the right wrench size , which makes it look weird
