Put tires on the wife's car this summer and got the balance beads. The car wasn't that smooth when it was new!

Just came in from servicing it and realized I couldn't hear anything rolling around in there when I rotated the tires. Should I be able to? My tip off was one of the rears had wheel weights on it. Like, a boat load of stick ons. Probably 10-12. I immediately thought I'd been taken but no other wheel has weights on it. Can't hear any "bead" sounds in any of the four.

Weigh in.

Those beads work but they are small/ You would not be able to hear/feel them when rolling a tire. The beads I have seen/used are almost as fine as sand.

You most times won't hear the small ones they will put in a car tire, but I'll bet they threw them on the tire balance machine and didn't
Give them a second to self balance and went to hammering weights to it!, you always need to tell them that you have beads and just rotate them, not to balance.

You can not hear the small beads moving around.
Beads will also throw a balance machine out of whack and you will never get the tire balanced.
That is the reason I do not like beads in a city stop and go wheel. Constant speed wheels they work great but stop and go and they never get a chance to really balance the tire.
