Hello, I'm pretty sure that you have heard of a " barn find ". But what about an oak tree find?
My personal Dr, gave me a ford tractor. It has a bad rod knock, but unknown of the year and model.
It has the nose of a jubilee but it's diesel engine.
Q. Where should we I look for its identify marks to find out what it is?

Not the foggiest idea, sorry, but you might get better responses on the Ford forum. But welcome to the tractor site, there is a wealth of knowledge here.

(quoted from post at 18:22:55 09/15/16) Left hand side next to the battery box. There should be a
diamond and then a # if the acid didn't eat it off.

Thanks, I will take a look.

With that description it can only be one of 4 models, 2 of what are 4 wheel models 6X1 or 8X1 series or if row crop then a 7X1 or 9X1. The X in model number can be a 4 for 4 speed, 5 for 5 speed without live power, 6 with live power take off, 7 or 8 a S-O-S tractor. It could also be a 2 as in with no hydrolics or PTO, just drawbar.
