thread sealant for a 9n engine block

I had a stripped out stud in the block. I had a problem drilling it out and went a little too deep. I will need a sealant to prevent a coolant leak. I bought a big tube of Permatec sealant, but I hate to waste that much money on a tube that I will never use again. It was all they had at O'Reilly's. Any suggestions?

I always use silicone gasket sealer on bolt treads. Seals well but not har to take back out if and when you have to and cost under $10

use thread lock, blue is the removable stuff, red is more for permanent. and if you were playing around with the threads they may not be up to par so this is the best option.

Not that big of a deal.Several studs go into the water jacket on "N" ford blocks.Many have been sealed over the years,even when new, with Permatex aviation sealant.
