I have an old Gleaner Baldwin Model A combine. Anybody know anything about these and maybe how much it is worth?? It is in pretty good shape

If you're near my place in mid Michigan,I'll give you $500 for it. You probably won't do much better than that.

I bought a Gleaner A2 10 years or so ago, got it for $700 at the time. I think its held value pretty good. Since I was paying the local BTO $800 per year to combine my soys It paid for itself AND I made $100 the first year. Every year since has been gravy.

On the other hand I picked up a Gleaner F for $650. I only wanted the grain head. But the combine is very used.

Whats the serial number of your A? This A Gleaner (top picture) located at Perkins,Oklahoma recently sold for
$231 on a Purple Wave auction..I thought that it was cheap...If it had been closer I might have bid on it..

The bottom picture is a 1952 R Gleaner that I just bought..

Don't want to be a smart arse, but are you sure you came out ahead? The "BTO" most likely had a flex head or a draper head and left about 1 inch of stubble. He had his combine set for the season. How many beans did you leave in the field? You get what you pay for. Take your hula-hoop out there and do a LOSS count. The picture is our old 105 Deere before we put the floating cutter bar on it------------Tee

It has a floating cutter bar that cuts real close, I never have any pods left, I do know how to set a combine and even with some loss It's still paid for since I have no loss by being more timely and getting closer to the edge of the field and into the corners.

Is your A in running shape and what do you want for it ? Where you at in Ks ? I am in SW Mo.

Don't know what to tell you for a value.. Not much more than what it weighs for scrap , if it doesn't run. How rusted-out are the elevator doors and the bottom of the bin ? Are the tires usable ? That one at Perkins, Ok sold last week for $230 or so and it looked to be in decent shape.

I don't know what you have for a machine, but that is not an A Gleaner. The picture of the combine from Perkins,Ok was an A Gleaner. Pretty neat machine you have there. Maybe somebody will Id it and give you an idea of its value.

My Grandpa had a pull type gleaner. I remember it being Galvanized and having an engine. It was a kind of smaller combine. I was too young at the time to know much about equipment. I believe he got a G3 Moline pull type after that, then a G4 Moline and after that they were all self propelled.
