MPH speed seems slow

I have a 1953 Oliver 77 that I use for parades and tractorcades. It seems to be slower then it should be as it runs about 11mph and other 77's are running 13 - 14. I have not been able to talk to those guys about how they sped up the tractor. Can I increase the rpm somewhat and to what level is safe? How increasing speed with the governor?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Your problem could be as simple as a weak throttle/gov spring. Some place in the throttle to gov linkage should be a spring and when it gets weak it will not open up the gov as wide as it should so then you do not get max RPM

First of all engine speed high idle no load should be 1750 RPM. Second during that time period Oliver also had an optional slower speed rear end. I need a serial number.

Some Oliver tractors had optional ring and pinion ratios. Check on the Oliver forum on YT to see if they can determine which ratio you have from the serial number or the model number on the tag.

Haven't seen him yet he an I at time get hard to find each other due to what we do. He owns a local pawn shop and I could give you his number in an e-mail
