Hi I am a newbe here Folks, a bit of help,my tractor is in West Africa where it was rescued from a scrap yard and put in working order by my local excellent mechanic, the only identifying thing is on the transmission casting the hydraulic pump "Valmet" the tyres are made in Russia and it bears a 1971 Helsinki registration and a chassis number I will TRY to upload a photo.

Just an idea - you might contact European/African/Mid-East offices of Ritchie Brothers to see if someone might
recognize it. This company does heavy equipment auctions all over the globe.

Thanks 4 reply,if I can manage it I will TRY to upload more pictures it is great to join here where members are serious and helpful about tractors.

just a observation but it looks like you would have to climb in the front to get in it. It looks like the loader rides on two cylinders, the one in back pulls down as it pivots on the front cylinder then the front cylinder lifts it on up with it pivoting on the back one. Don't see how it could work without being a bit sloppy and unstable, am I missing something?

You are quite right, you enter this thing by climbing up a step behind the bucket open the cab & get in normal driving is shovel in front engine behind, there are push in hydraulic connections for other implement use once you unhitch the bucket from the lift arms

Thanks but No Tractor Enthusiast has come up with a maker for this machine,I will try a back view, remember normal driving is shovel in front engine at the back

Welcome!

Many of us are interested in tractors built in other countries. I do know that Valmet was a Scandinavian built tractor, and somewhere in the 1970's is very likely. I do believe it was built in Finland. Valmet combined with Volvo, and morphed into Valtra. The company was bought out by AGCO to get its engine manufacturing plant. The engines are named "Sisu" and are known to be very high quality. So possibly an AGCO dealer in your area can help you with identification or parts availability.

Please tell us what you find out.

Thanks Paul,I totally concur, that is where I am at,however the engine on my tractor is a FORD 2711 with a Minimec pump, a FANTASTIC engine.Your expert knowledge has confirmed my research in every respect ,quite satisfying, thanks to everyone for their ideas and postings.Job done as the saying goes. You never know maybe even some one from AGCO reads this forum and will post in the future ,you never know anything is possible in Cyberspace.
