Bought a brushog gear box at auction how can I tell what horse power rating this gear box is

I guess there is a way without having a brand name, etc, input, output shaft,] generally bigger horsepower has splined input shaft, & at least 6 mounting holes

What brand is it? Pretty sure its not a Brushog. Usually you can google it once you have a name, and learn lots of stuff from the manufacturer's website.

Start by finding the brand and some casting numbers or post a photo. You can google the manufacture if you can find a name. Comer is a real poplar brand box.
