Field modifications, farmer modifications and farmer repairs. We have all cobbed something together to finish the job or make a piece of equipment do what we want, let's see what ingenuity came up with. I think Deltared has a couple to show us anyone else?

I made this quick attach for the loader bucket.

The loader forks fit here as well. the 3pt link up(point in middle of no place) was a quick idea, NEEDED forks heavy snow in forecast(so bucket was on) put that on to work it on the 3 pt. Needed a longer pin to hold the lift arms. it worked till was over loaded and snapped the 2in sq tube. then we cut it off rammed a rod down the center angle iron on out side. Works good for a rigging point to.

I'll see what else I can root out.

Ya have to revert to this and learn how to tie knots since there are not to many wire balers anymore!

the wrecking bar holder on the 504 loader.

how to run a dual hy on a single remote, was made to be removable(say if needed on Deere)
How many loaders are hooked up this way?

And the Case 1816BM("been modified" to 22 horse) skid steer. Note bungee strap, that's to hold the grill/radiator closed.

My boss looked at me like I was nuts a couple times because I was tying something someplace with baler twine. As example a air sander to a T stand to use as a buffing station or a piece of scrap tube on a shop "truck" as a tool holder.

I made an Air Ride Seat Mount for a JD 4320. There are none commercially offered. I worked with Industrialseats.com to Identify what would fit the best in the 4320 application. It has worked out real well. I just used metal I had laying around.

I added a third, top, fork to my round bale loader to ensure a round bale could not come back on the tractor. Paul

I guess I don't think to take a picture when I cobble something up.......here's a couple of things I do have a picture of....this tractor didn't have a step when I bought it so I made this from some scrap iron. The other is a draw pin that I modified so I could pull on the rope to pull the clip pin and keep pulling to pull the draw pin without getting off the tractor.

Don't get to post much but I sure have enjoyed the pictures on the feature night threads. And love the homemade stuff. My Dad, and I pretty much never bought anything new that couldn't be improved by a farmer. In years past when we should have taken pictures,,never thought of it.

Many years ago after the purchase of a new Massey-Ferguson model 82 combine he told me the difference between engineer's and a farmer. We had to take off some big sheet of metal on the combine. Don't remember what it was for but he told me: It took 20 years for someone to decided it was needed, took 2 years to design it, took 2 months to build and install it but only 20 minutes to take it off.

Sorry, I meant for it to be more about emergency repairs and things the old timers did when they didn't have much to work with. Baling wire and duct tape. I had a moline that the throttle lever was broken off and someone had welded an eyebolt on to repair it. I left it even when I painted it because I thought it was cool. If you look real close you can see it in this picture to right of the gear shift lever. I have seen some other fixes that didn't look like much but did the job.
