Ford LGT 125

Just bought this Ford LGT 125 and I am looking for information such as the year it was made. The model number is 09JC3281 and the serial number is 0122768. Thanks for any input.

The 09JC3281 was made from 1978 to 1983. It was made by Jacobson. I don't remember if we could do a serial lookup on them like we could for regular ag tractors. Call a New Holland Ag dealer near you that has been there a long time.

Thanks, that cuts out the first 5 years of production. There is another guy on here that knows the codes for the month and year it was made. Hopefully he will respond.

Also I am going to go look at a Ford LGT 16D tomorrow. It has 890 hours, 16 HP Shibaura Diesel engine, power steering, hydraulic deck lift, gas gauge and 48" deck all reportedly in good condition. Price of $1800. Is this too high?

I don't think the L&G used standard date coding, but if they did the format is munber-letter-number-letter. First digit is last number of the year, letter is the month (A=JAN, etc. skips "I"), next one or two numbers is day of month, last letter is shift. The LGT diesel was a good unit in it's time. but it is well past it's time. Low production unit so parts that were exclusive to the diesel will be hard to come by.
