How low have you seen gas lately???

WILX in Lansing (MI) said last night that a gas station in Houghton Lake was selling gas for $0.47 ! No, that's not a misprint. Been to that same station a few times. Always stop there with a load of tractors on the way up to the mighty Mac. Guess there was some sort gas war. When was the last time you saw prices that low? I'm 33 and have never seen it much lower than a dollar.

Ya,I heard on the news at noon that the cops had to get involved in that one. I just got back from Greenville,$1.58 there. Back down to where it was a month ago before shooting straight up to $1.99 just before Christmas. I guess they can't bring the price back down too quick or we'd know it was a huge scam.

That was a short lived gas war, and prices are back up today - according to the noon news. Would have been nice - we can dream. Sigh.

I work for a crude oil pipeline company, at a tank farm, and given the current price per barrel and the projected price I would not be a bit surprised if we see it at or under a dollar. Our stock has taken a pretty good hit in the past few weeks. I hope that eventually it will all trickle down to the consumer to such things as shipping costs and consumer goods bringing down the cost of living a little. Probably will all go back up soon though. Any thoughts?

There are stations right there that have been keeping the price lower than anyone else. Yesterday it was .47 a gal and last night went up to 1.47. Today I filled up there i was 1.44. From what they said yestersday that M 55 was a roadblock and backed up for a mile. I live about 12 miles west of there

I've noticed that. Seems like it's been that way for a year or more. Always refreshing to see that price when we come up. Thus the reason I always try to stop there :)

In west Quincy, Mo. they use to have gas wars all the time. Across the bridge over the Mississippi river was Quincy, ILL. I can remember filling up the old 56 chevy for $ .10 cents a gallon. Some say it got down to .07 cents. Along Time ago. Wont ever see that but I never thought id see $2.00 a gallon but its down to $1.67 now.

Well-As Slick Willie used to say: "It depends on what you men by the word 'is'." In this case, it depends on what you mean by "lately". It seems like yesterday when, after World War II (The Big One) ended, we heard on the radio that wage and price controls had ended and gasoline rationing was over. It was speculated that gasoline might soon hit 25 cents per gallon.

Many places in the 2.039 to 2.099 with a few in the mid 1.90s in my part of CNY.
Considering NY has the highest taxed fuel in the nation it's not bad.

Friday at Sams in Champaign, IL, gas was $1.539 and Thornton had diesel at $1.799. There is a terminal on the west side of town. Every where else gas is around $1.67 and diesel is just under $2. I haven't checked on farm diesel.

Just filled up the wife's van and my F 150 for $16.00 / 32 gallons of gas.Love the Kroger card discount. We gave gift cards for Christmas and bought them all at Krogers.Got a $1.00 discount on gas tonight, put the price at .49 an 9/10 per gallon.

No way I would run grocery/sam's club/walmart store gas in my vehicles... I do favor grocery store gift cards what I have left over I can use and its a tax write off...

Did they do it again today? I had a friend stop and fuel up his semi and they said there may be round 2 today also. That was at 7:00 this morning and never heard if they did it again or not. I couldn't believe that when I saw it on 9&10 news last night.

For 87 octane, 2.29.9 locally, but "only" 2.14.9 the next county over. I haven't been paying attention to Diesel, but it seems often 20-50 cents higher than gas.

Every few years state politicos get a bug in their britches and say they're going to investigate WHY gas prices are so much higher in WNY than anywhere else in the state. Six months later, all is forgotten about and the price of gas is still twenty or more cents higher than elsewhere east of here. Apparently it's politically incorrect to ask those questions, or demand the discrepancy be fixed.

Here is Okc , OK.

$1.29 reg gas
$1.39 diesel

taxes are $0.35/gal gas, $0.38/gal diesel so technically fuel is under or right at a dollar per gallon (without tax).

Lowest its been here in NY. Saturday morning.

Bought diesel several times in Oklahoma yesterday for 1.45 to 1.55. Most stations in Texas were 1.89-1.99 and in Missouri was 1.69-1.89. Sure make a difference when you have long trips.

I've got over 400,000 miles on Sam's Club gas in 3 different vehicles running down to -30 degrees. I've never had any issues.
