3 different farms.

Nice pics Larrry ! Thanks for posting them. The way the buildings are so close to the road it reminds of some parts of Kentucky I drive through quite often.

Some barns are that close to the road in east central Ohio. Sure would make you want to be good at backing a wagon into the barn when you block the whole road.

Only know of one building in this area that sits that close to a road. It is the old Ha Ha Tonka post office. It is a rock/cement building that has been there for decades.

When the safety nuts get hold of it they will have the barns and houses condemned and destroyed to protect the inattentive drivers. My grandpa's house was on one side and barn on the other, but fortunately it's a dead end lane and has never been widened. When those barns were built traffic would stop their horses to let you back into your barn.

rrlund , I believe John to be here in Louisiana and anyone that hasn't drank while driving is probably still crawling!!

Yep, when a cop stops you in south Louisiana if you don't have a beer they'll give you one.

reminds me of Germany all older houses and barns were close to the road, all the ground was used for razing crops, lots of sugar beets and aspara where I was at.

Just looks so crazy. Guessing you don't want to sneeze whilst driving there. :)

I'd love to see the inside of that house posted by John in LA. (I have to say the yard work looks minimal on that one... pull a lawn chair out of the garage and just relax - because there's no work to do.)

My Uncle had an old farmhouse less than 10 feet off rt 30 near Chambersburg PA, twice the front porch was knocked off by a car.
