Loaded daughters tractor today

I finally got to send my daughters tractor with her today. She and her husband borrowed my 24 foot gooseneck to haul it home. She lives 3 hours away near Johnson city ,Tn. I had intended to haul it to them but just havent had the time. Both she and her brother teach Ag and I am very proud of both of them. Last year she was chosen as the most outstanding young Ag teacher in the southeastern U.S. In the past few years both she and her brother were chosen{different years}as Tn Agriscience teacher of the year. Leann and her husband bought a house and barn with a few acres. She has 3 horses{a bad habit she got from her dad} and they have been manhandling round bales and having to hire bushhogging, garden plowing and etc. Around a year ago I bought a 300 J.D.{real similar to a 1020] with a loader for her. She grew up driving my 1520 and I consider this style to be one of the safer tractors for a beginner. It took me a while to be sure I had it debugged and changed the hyd fluid twice to get moisture out. I was glad to get it to her and hope they get many years of safe use with it.Just felt like sharing that cause some of you guys gave me advice when working on it . Thanks again!

Hope it workes for them. I did almost the same thing a few years ago for my oldest daughter. She teaches at Mt.Juliet Ten. Has 14 acres just South a few miles. I bought a 40 John Deere. New pistons, paint. etc. They absolutely couldn't keep it running long enough to keep it mowed. Never any major problems. Tractor just needed to be fuel injected.lol. Son-inlaw solved it. Bought them a new 4200 JD. They have some issues with it.

My daughter never got into tractors, but we were making hay for her sheep, so she would ted or rake if I needed her to. She planned on having sheep again after finishing her education, but since she works at Harvard and Mass Gen'l Hospital, she has to live where land for farming is not available. Maybe some day.

Was that the one that had the knock in it Lee? I know first hand those 1020s are just about indestructible,it'll make her a good tractor.
Maybe I can meet her one of these times when I'm down there. I know what it's like to have kids that you can be proud of. It's a great feeling.

No Randy, my 1520 was the one with the knock. I have it torn down in my shop right now. The bad thing is my 3020 that I like to feed with went down with a knock about a week ago! It is sitting at the bottom of a steep, slick, muddy hill. Funny thing, in my entire life I never had a tractor do that. I guess it was just time for me to lol. I hope you can meet my kids too. I would love to meet yours. God has really blessed me in that respect. Fact is he blessed me in many ways. The other day when the 3020 went down I had to walk out thru mud and rain to bring my truck back to check it out. Got truck stuck on hill and had to walk back and get 806 to pull truck out. I was not in a good humor at this point and then I thought how blessed I was to own this place and to own equipment to break down! I am also very thankful for the good friends I have met here on Y T. Now I will probably have you to remind me of all this when I finally get time to tear into the transmission of the 1850 lol.
