Where would you look or buy for older (1991 F150) Ford truck body parts ? Looking for the part over the left front wheel which some call "splash guard" and others call "apron".

To add to the mix, I found the part from a place in California with part at about $25 but shipping was $204 Yikes !! No Sale here !

I'm going to check a local dealer, but suspect they will be quite high priced also.

Thanks for your help. Ron

PS J C Whitney has "the part" but reviews say is comes rolled up in a little box. I sure laughed at that !

E7TZ 16055 A is NLA from Ford. 49-8662 INNER FENDER-FRONT-LH from LMC truck will cost you 60.70 shipped. ($29.95 + shipping.)

the correct term is apron. my estimating system shows part number F4TZ 16055A , list price 102.27, labor 1.2 hrs to install. it is nla from ford. like bob said, lmc has them. also, looks like the full size bronco will also interchange on the fender and apron from 1987 thru 1996. we have bought from lmc and they have good products. we also use browns of two rivers wisconsin. browns does not show the apron in their catalog.

Got a whole pile of parts for my F150 and F250 at the salvage yard last weekend. Probably would have cost me $250-300 at a auto salvage yard. Just a regular steel yard though, only cost me $15.

While on this topic, Have any of you worked on the door pillar switch that controls the interior light? Switch on the driver's side was intermitent and finally quit totally. Found the switch connector inside the body had pulled apart. Wow, what a tight place - no way could I get that connector back together by wiggaling (sp) and pushing. Finally took the switch off the pillar, it threads into the pillar, pulled thw wire through the switch hole and made the connection, then put the switch back in and tightened it up. Fortunately the wires to the switch are long enough that the twist in the wires from tightening the switch back into the pillar didn't cause a problem.

Caused me to wonder how they connected that switch at the factory !!

Thanks again for all the great info given.

Twist the wires several turns CCW, then attach to switch and screw in CW. When switch snugs up in place wires will be more or less untwisted.
