MF/AGCO Customer Support

Folks, I have been around the mountain many times and I find that MF/AGCO customer service/warranty support nears the bottom of the barrel.

For those who are skeptical, I was a design engineer for GM for many years and did warranty analysis for several years before leaving GM voluntarily to attent law school.

Details are not necessary at this time (This is a long story (well documented) during which I have given both MF/AGCO and my dealer multiple chances (my fault) yet I continued to be treated unfairly.) but both AGCO and Fraley Truck and Implement Sales (Rushville and Versailles, IN) need to treat their customers better unless they all wish to look for jobs in the foreseeable furture.

FWIW: I bought two new Kubota tractors this past month to replace the two MF tractors that I should have known better than buying. I do not expect to have trouble with the Kubotas.

Buyer beware. Wake up, folks, the world has changed.

I'm convinced. Tomorrow I'll get my torch and cut up my FE35 since those dealers in Indiana are worthless. TDF (Old Geezer) (Flunky) (Lifetime Redneck) etc., etc.

I have no doubt there are bad dealers out there in every color. A friend bought a new Agco Allis before they dropped the name and went all MF. He got it from the same dealer that I only frequented once because of the parts guy who waited on me. I'm thinking his is an RT95 or something like that. Anyway,it got harder and harder to shift. They kept telling him over and over that they had to get a special tool to fix it. They dragged their feet until the warranty was up then told him he had to pay, even though he had told them repeatedly about the problem while it was still under warrantee. I don't know what some of these dealers are thinking.

Yep. Had an FE 35 tractor, as well as a MF 35. Both Perkins diesels and both not bad tractors.

I allowed these experiences to influence me into buying a new 2007 MF 533 and a new 2012 MF 2635 (my fault, should have known better).

Support by both MF/AGCO and dealer(s) has been abysmal if not outright dishonest.

Dean

Agreed, Rrlund.

In my case, it is BOTH AGCO/MF and the dealer.

Nothing but Kubota hereafter.

We had a great AGCO dealer here. They sold out a few years ago to a dealer that was trying to get a chain going. Under the new owners the place didn't last a year. No parts on hand and very poor service. They tried telling my BIL that a new crank wasn't available for his tractor and there it was, available according to AGCO parts lookup. They just wanted to get his 8070 cheap as a trade on a new one.

I have a CNH/Kubota dealer nearby.

I have bought both Kubota and NH tractors from this dealer and have not had issues such as I have had with MF/Fraley with these tractors.

The problem here is both dealer ane AGCO related.

Never again.

Dean

You guys must have some bad dealers around you, the only dealer that I don't care for is the local NH dealer, and that is because of their bad attitude! I have not had any issues with the rest of them, I am still going to buy Massey stuff, bought some new equipment and used from some of them and they have treated me great! Feel sorry for you guys!

it sounds to me like you have a BIG axe to grind. worked for a MF dealer for years and it comes to a point that some customers you can not please it don't matter what you do. and when i would talk to another dealer they had the same dealings with the same person. if you think your little Kubota is so great good for you i for one would never own one because i have worked on a lot of them and they are no better or worse then anything else 90% of trouble with anything is the owner. at 64 i have seen just about every way a person cane mass things up and the weekend worrier that has money is the worst. you never knock the competition because someday you might be selling it or owning it

Hi
Agco lost a lot of guys in this area when they stopped importing Valtra tractors to North America, and told us we had to buy Massey. quite a few of us basically said if we wanted a Massey we would of bought the pile of junk when we got the valtra. What they forgot was there are other makes of tractor. I see lots of new tractors in old Valtra yards, and they ain't Massey bright red L.O.L. i still run mine and will continue, I will just find another nice used one somewhere to replace it if needed to, there are other places to get parts when they pull that stunt to here as well.

Don't get me started on parts prices, I got a quicke 960 loader with grapple, the tines with an agco part are about $130 ea. i can buy the same tine through CaseIH with 3 different letters in the part no, but made by the same company for about $75 ea. Funny how that's working out to, I wish I'd of found that out, before i replaced 18 frozen manure damaged tines over the last 2 winter seasons cleaning out my hog barns!.
Regards Robert

I don't know what your problem is but I have known all of the employees at Fraley's for years. There is not a nicer bunch of guys in the business.

I went to get some Massey Parts the other and my nearest dealer only had 4 tractors on the lot and he told me he was ready to go CNH, stated he wanted away from AGCO,the parts are extremely high and they don't carry much older parts, next parts will be ordered from some one out of state that seems to care about customers

Well, you proclaim to have legal experience, but you have named names and slandered your local MF dealer for all the world to see with unexplained aquisations.
I think you are treading on very thin ice, and they can legaly come back after you for slander.
Loren, the Acg.

Given all the problems with GM I think I would of left that part out ! LOL. So what part did you play in the ignition switch cover up ?

Haven't had any ax to grind before buying two MF tractors, and have a good relationship with my local CNH/Kubota dealer.

At 66, an engineer and lifetime mechanic, I well know how not to mess things up and do not do so.

As for Kubota: I bought my first new Kubota in 1994. In the 21+ years that I have owned it, it has needed absolutely NO maintenance aside from routine lube, oil and filter changes. NOTHING. Not so much as a fuse, fan belt or lamp bulb.

Frankly, I expect the same from my 2 new ones.

Dean

Could be.

It's not personal but rather endemic to AGCO/MF and their dealer(?).

Dean

I don't doubt you had issues that could not be resolved. We have bumped heads a few times I respect your opinion I hope you have respected mine...

Lucky me I have a Bota dealer I trust so I patronize them... I think your MF dealer/network lost your trust and you do have a ax to grind go for it. Trust and goodwill goes along ways when its lost someone gets the shaft...

Thanks, Hobo.

For over two years I refrained from naming the dealer but the time has come and I did so inform.

Dean

I would say haft the GOOD folks I work for were dissatisfied with the work from the shop they left. I did nuttin special other than listen to there complaint and FIX there issue.

I rarely fall into the trap of badgering another shop it gains me noting.... Trust can not be brought when its lost its gone forever...
I get a customer that I can not satisfy every now and again I don't make up a excuse for this I move own they move on. Every now and again they show back up we play by my rules are they can take a hike some folks I just don't need in my life...

Don't get me started on doctors they don't do me any favors they get paid well for what they do... I spec you did not ask for something free your complaint was not resolved you got a excuse that satisfied them...

Don't know about north of the border but unless he states that the dealer is a crook he's good. I can say a dealer is poor and name the dealer because I'm an American expressing an opinion. If I accuse him of being a crook I better be able to prove that to a judge.

Sometimes I think its how big of a customer you are. We bought a Kubota from a very large multi store dealer that covers ind and Ky that happens to be a lil south of your dealer. About a month into mowing season the gearbox on the mower deck went out. Took over 6 weeks to get it back. They would not give us anything to use in the mean time. I think its a lot to do that we run all deere farm equipment and there not worried bout it. Next time were going to a small dealer that is about 20 miles south of your dealer if you know who I mean.

I know several who have bought from them and real like them. Its about 45 min from here and the IH/Kubota dealer here is 10 min away but next time were going north.

(quoted from post at 08:16:22 11/14/15) What country is a Bota made in??

Kubota or Bota is a Japanese country but they do assemble some of their tractors in other countries to include the US. Kinda like CaseIH/NH is an Italian owned company that builds tractors in more than one country.

Rick

Most, not sure if all, Kubota tractors are assembled in the US but engineered in Japan.

Though I am not certain, I expect that many (most?) sub assemblies and components are manufactured in Japan.

Dean

FWIW, Hobo, I respect your experience and opinions as well.

Might want to frame this, Hobo, (haha) as I rarely find occassions to offer such accolades. (By the way, as one who grew up on the RR and a lifetime RR buff, I love your handle.)

No one should be offended, as there are several others on this forum that are so worthy.

Dean

Enough said, folks.

I have vented and I am done.

I negotiated the deal for the Kubota to replace the other MF this morning and soon both MFs will be out of my barn.

Hope all of you have a wonderful day.

Dean

After 15+ years of working in an AGCO/NH dealership I have learned many things. Such as there are two sides to every story, multi store dealers are not always the answer and some people are never happy.

Jim

I am curious what the problems with each of these tractors was? I intended to ask which models you had the problem with but your post addressed that. I believe you also have several vintage Fords? Good luck with the Kubotas, I have a couple friends that own Kubotas and have had excellent luck with them. Kubotas are quite popular in my part of NY for small to mid sized utility tractors.

I know The question is a feeble at best attempt to point out as the great people who feed america we should be educated enough to refer to products by the proper name.

Back in 2005 I had an uncle that lived near Gwynneville. He had a MF 35, the manifold was busted, and needed a carb rebuild & tune up. He used it for mowing 20 acres of pasture. We went to the MF dealer in Rushville on Rte 3 just south of town. The gentleman who waited on us stated he had the original manifold & all pieces in stock, but recommended we go to a newer style of manifold that was a direct replacement. It was around 30% cheaper. He stated that he did not have the newer one in stock. My uncle decided the cheaper one would be the way to go, so he gave us all the other parts we needed, my uncle paid him & he found what we needed at another dealer near north side of Indy, had them set it out for us, we drove to Indy & picked it up no problem whatsoever.
Maybe they have been bought out or something but I always had good service from them back then.
