Well it is getting cold out and I still need to spread some grass seed for a Duck's Unlimited job. Probably a good 8 hours of work, 35 miles away so I would like to do it in one day. Problem is the highs are only going to be in the 30's....so I would like to use my cab tractor. With the spin spreader I have, I would not be able to reach the handle to shut off the seed flow when I turn around. Any brilliant ideas on how to modify it? A hydraulic cylinder would be nice, but how do you keep the rate uniform? DC motor/actuator would be nice but $$$. I don't think I can extend the handle and still reach it through the cab window....maybe a rope and pulley system? Anyone else solve this problem already??
