I've just about give up on the cab. Used tractor prices around me are scary. For those that might have missed my earlier post, I'm in the market for a second tractor, 60 pto hp plus or minus 5, loader, and I was looking for a cab. But I'm about to scratch that. I've found 2 cab tractors, one with a loader, one without.
First is a Ford 5640 SL, 6600 hrs, dual remotes, allied loader, needs tires, 2wd, average tractor, 4 hours away, $12000.
Second is a Ford 5610 series 2, cab with heat and ac, 8x2 trans with dual power, 2 wd, tires in good shape, showing 4500 hours, relatively decent looking tractor, dual remotes and adjustable link ends, no loader so I'd have to try and round that up somewhere and I'm not buying a new one, about 2 and half hours away, asking $12900 but says make offer.
I've found 3 open station that fit the bill.
First is 1995 Ford 5030, one owner, Tractor has 696 original hours on it and looks it. Really sharp looking. 7310 Ford loader with joystick, straight 8x2 trans, 2wd, single remote, adjustable link ends, and roll bar/canopy, about 4 hours away, $14750 bottom dollar.
Second is a Ford 5610 series 2, one owner, roll bar/canopy, just over 3000 hours, dual power, Bush Hog 2400 qt loader, adjustable link ends, dual remotes but the loader appears to be tying both remotes(all 4 ports) up and there appears to be no loader control(maybe its plumbed straight in??), tires are decent, decent looking tractor, about 2.5 hours away, $12500 bottom dollar.
And third, and probably the tractor I know the least about, an IH 684, one owner, 4600 hours, good tires, 2 wd, with roll bar/canopy , single remote, IH 2050 loader. Owner says nothing wrong with it, looks good in the pictures Ive seen, he said they just upgraded to a bigger tractor. Said they bought it new in '81. Asking $8000 but he'll move a little, told me to come look at and see what I thought. Probably buy it for $7-7500.
I like the 5030 the best, but that's really stretching my budget. The price of the IH has me really considering it, but I know nothing about the IH's. Any guess as how it would compare to the Ford's? Closest Case IH dealer is just over 2 hours away and know very little about them. There's another one about 3 hours away in Jonesborough, Tn that's suppose to be a good dealer, but again no first hand knowledge...Appreciate any input.
