I was told I can get into Canada with an expired passport and my driver's license. Anyone want to "second" this???

Let me know how that works out for you...I want to head south with the same expired passport and DL...

We do have an Enhanced DL we can get in Canada to drive across without a passport. I don't have that either.

Rule 1...never let them expire, its much easier to renew before its too late. Grant

I go into Canada from NNY once a month,sometimes more often than that,on nothing more than an enhanced N.Y. D L. No passport or birth certificate.D L only.Coming and going.I don't know why you'd have a problem.I'd leave the expired passport home though.

Eldon getting into Canada is not the issue. It is getting BACK to the US with that expired passport that could be fun.

I don't think your country can deny you entry into your own homeland. They may chuck you in prison for not having the correct papers, but they can't set you adrift in a foreign land. This advice and a buck and a half will get you a cup of coffee.
