Hi all, good morning and many warm regards! My 51 MH 44 has the typical loud gear noise you would expect from an old tractor with straight cut gears. At some point in the years coming I would love to rebuild the tranny and replace all the bearing but until then I wonder if there is anything that can be done to quiet the gears even a bit?
I changed the fluid when I bought the tractor as it was typically muddy from condensation and water contamination. At that time I filled it with diesel and ran it slightly to clean things up a bit and then filled it with new gear lube. I will have to change the gear lube out again this winter as I am planning on replacing a leaking brake seal.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thank you
Jeremy
