What I'm thinking about today, planting picture...

Well it was 10 degrees this morning, here's what I'm wishing I was doing. Snow south of us, but none here to push. This picture usually gets a few thinking, can you do that? The short answer is, yes, and it uses barely any fuel. And I like my extra seed and rock carrier in the front!

Ollie, is that a 1760 planter? I think it is identical to mine but I am not sure I see the vacuum pump on it. My interest is because I just ordered the goods to put two 200 gallon tanks on it for starter and I think it will look just like yours. I have been worried about what kind of clearance I would have with the markers when I folded in the wings. How close is yours? Was the liquid on it when you bought it or did you add it? Do you band or in furrow with it? I'm replacing the firmers with ones that will have a splitter for beans.

It is a finger pickup 1760, I plant my corn and beans with it. It did come with liquid when I got it. Everything is pretty close, the tanks, markers and light posts. My tanks are close to the boxes when folded, probably to keep them low and out of the way. But it does work and I really like it. My liquid is in a band, shooting into a furrow behind one yetter coulter. I don't think that is the best setup, but it works so far. I can send a close up if you want.
