What are the best tractor tires

Can someone out there give me some recommendations on what kind of tires I should buy to put on my oliver super 77 that I am restoring... I plan on doing some light field work with the tractor but would also like to take it to some pulls. I need tires that will do good in both but not break my wallet...

Thanks,
Jake

I'm partial to Firestone traction field and and
Road. but they are PRICEY.Harvest King has served me
very well.I just buoght a HK 18.4x38.Good looking,
deep tread....Wear well too.$675.00.

Where are you located DeltaRed? Im in MN. They used to sell Harvest Kings here but don't anymore. I always liked them.

best all around farm tire is Firestone, both bias and radial are top of the line. Michlin is ok but their tread design is made for the European peat style dirt. Titan used to have a very thin casing and we had major problems with corn stalks going thru them especially the first year they were on the tractor. We also put on new goodyears but their radials had a problem with splitting at the seams and blowing out. I have been out of the farm tire business for 9 years and I hope the Titan and goodyear problems have been fixed.

On bias ply Titan Never gave me any problems, The brand that was JUNK was the Firestone field and road, those sidewalls busted between every tread bar and that tread would not clean. Now the old Firestone 45* tire was good and that tire cleaned. Plowing round to round with both models. If I was to buy a tractor with Firestone it would be a deal breaker unless the dealer would remove them and put on any other brand. And I have told the Firestone tire engineeres at their proving ground just what I think of them. And at 1 year old and not abused Firestone would not do anything about their faulty tires. Ended up putting reliners in so we could get a few years use out of them.

I am needing to replace a rear on my Oliver 770, been putting it off but think it will have to be done this next summer. If I remember correctly it is 13.6-38, not sure what your Super 77 has mounted. Was at the Power Farming Show in Des Moines, IA this past week and rep from Titan tires and also is one of the local tire guys gave me a price of $475 for their standard farm tire, not including the service call and new tube. Believe these have lugs at 45 degrees.

Has anyone heard of Mitas ag tires? They are a European tire company and few years ago they started production in Charles City, IA. Haven't seen any or heard anything about them

I've only been pulling for 5 years. Personally Firestone 23 degree are best pulling tires for the under 10,000 lb class. I have 3 tractors pulling in that class. 990 Oliver, W9, & wifes 900 Case.
The other tire I believe is good for pulling are the old BF Goodrich hard rubber and 50% wear, seen them win lots.

Mitas, yes I've a set on my white. More lugs per tire than the goodyears they replaced. Deep lug as well, but not unstoppable.

Nice looking White, what model? How do those Mitas tires hold up to wear, compared to the Goodyears you replaced?
