When is the best time to sell a tractor?

I have one, maybe two, tractors I no longer use and should sell them. What time of year would be best to sell a tractor? The one I have in mind is a Case 400 with a New Idea loader on it. The loader has a large snow bucket on it.

Now,on through spring would be best. Back when things were humming right along at the auction at Archbold, they always had a two day auction twice a month from this time until June. Tractors every second and fourth Monday, equipment the second and fourth Tuesday. In June, they would drop the Monday tractor sales and sell everything on Tuesday. There was a lower volume of sales later in the year.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to get a picture of it and post it in the picture adds.

I do more in January than any other month. But the best time is when a buyer shows up with money in hand and work with them on price if your not to far off on the price and you let him leave, your not really wanting to sell it. That also happens a lot today with different people.Even when I go to buy a new truck I don't ever pay what they start at.Buyers need to feel like there getting a good deal.

(quoted from post at 18:28:52 02/06/15) Maybe today! Where are you located and how much?

I'm located near Belmont, WI.. I'm not sure on the price yet. I'll be selling it as a package. Tractor, loader, and a set of tire chains. The only thing that needs to be fixed is it needs a new starter solenoid.

Yeah Man, I've been to more that a few Archbold Sales....Good old Yoder and Frey....Best place to "BS" there ever was...sometimes some real good deals too.....

The best time to sell anything is when you have a buyer. Those old tractors are hard to sell unless your well below market value.

Here are some images of the 400.

A snow mover like that should be advertizes in November. Winter is half over, but it might sell if priced right. Can you locate a HeatHouser for it?

Went to Archbold once. It was live farmer porn! Didn't stay for sale, but walked the lot, very interesting. Could have spent a million $.

Yep, that's what I was going to say, when you find a buyer.

Post it on YT Photo ad and craigslist, both free.

Some have negative things to say about craigslist. I weigh in on the positive side. Found things hundreds of miles away using searchtempest. com

I have it listed on the yt photo adds. I think I may have forgot to add OBO to the add.
