Bought some stuff from an estate and this was in the back of the barn.It's painted JD green,but says champion on the front casting.

That's what it looks like to me. The potatoes would be in the bin/hopper. The "spoon" chain would take potato and dump down chute to the trench made by shoe. The disks on back pull dirt over into hill. The can in front of the bin could be fertilizer.

O. K. Champion was still in business over in Indiana a few years ago, BUT not with potato equipment.

Sure looks like the one my grandfather had. It was scrapped in the early 50's. He had 9 mouths to feed so he grew a lot of potatoes, had an IHC digger too.
