i need some help on this fuel system. My tractor was running
Fine before the front steering cylinder had to be repaired. I thought I might as well change my fuel filters while it was down. What a mistake! I put the new filters in and of course they leak and I can't get my tractor to start now! Please tell me what to do. My cylinder is rebuilt and back on. I just can't
Get the darn thing started!

If you have the fuel filters with the glass bowls you can change them over to spin on filters and you will have to bleed out the air to the pump

I do have the glass bowls, where do I get the spin on ones and how do I bleed the air out of the line. Is it the bleed screw on top of the filter housing?

Hi Ross, did you change the filter O-rings?
If you did make sure you got all the old bits
of the O-ring out of the groove. Also do not
over tighten the filter bolt or you will crack
the glass bowl.

There is a bleed screw on top of each filter
housing.
Bleed filter closest to fuel tank first then
bleed the next filter. Put STOP/START/RUN lever
in the START position then try to start engine
after bleeding. If the engine will not start
then loosen an injector line at the rear of the
injector pump and try to start engine.

I changed mine over to spin-on. I had trouble with
the old ones either leaking or breaking. I got the
kit from my Case-IH dealer.About $180 I think.

It is leaking because either you didn't get the old gasket all out. Or the gasket is not setting right on the top of the glass bowl or top of the filter.
After you bleed out the air on the filters there is a bleeder on the top of the pump. Loosen then wait for the fuel then tighten back up. Should start right off.
We have a 574 with spin on filters and a 674 with the old glass bowls. We made aluminum bowls for the filters after one broke. Solved that problem.

Thank you all for your help, I just gotta bleed the air out of the lines and I think I will be good to go. Trying to find where I can get the spin on assembly so I can change that immediately. Glass bowls are a pain!

All you of you have been a great help!

Does anyone know where I can get the fuel assembly that will allow me to get the spin on fuel filters. IH/Case says they don't make them anymore.

Thanks in advance
