Rotella vs. Traveller. What is the difference in perform...

Hey folks.

I was in that tractor place last evening pricing
oil.

I am completing a rebuild on my Ford 4500 TLB and
will probably run Rotella in that as I have had
good luck with it for many years.

I also needed oil for the parts chaser and other
assorted tractors and the like.

I read the labels on the Rotella and the store
brand and they seem to have the same specs with
the difference being that the R. had some unnamed
'triple protection' additives which improves
lubrication.

Does anyone have knowledge on what makes these
oils different?

Opinions?

Brad

I have been using traveller oil for a long time. In everything. My 99 f-350 diesel with 276,000 miles on it. I had a garage replace front and rear main oil seal and pan gasket. Just out of curiosity I asked them to take a look up into the engine when they had the pan off. The mechanic said it was spotless. Said he couldn't believe that there wasn't any build up , sludge anything. I also have been using it in my john deere backhoe, skid steer, welder, lawn mower, etc. Etc. For years.
