plowing low land

I am trying to plow up about a 1/2 an acre of low land kinda swampy but no standing water where i'm trying to plow there's a healthy batch of canary grass / burning nettle that I cut down and now want to plow whats the best way to go about it I have a 32hp tractor with 2bottom 3pt plow

Burn off if no fire hazard to surrounding area is old practice. As for the later plowing? What are you planning for it later- hay ground, row crop, oats or wheat or a garden patch? If a garden patch- plow a land with a one pass around tossing to center, then go over and do another, repeat until field is done. You"ll end up with about 4 foot wide semi raised beds that will drain earlier and can be planted quicker in spring, won"t rot seed. Can do couple row crops also with a 30 inch to 42 inch spacing. This is done more now for gardens but used to be moderately common for bottom land around Ohio river valley among some of the Irish and German farmers in early days during transition from horse to tractor- especially when the Ford Ns came out. Spray it with Roundup before you do anything else. A pint of roundup in ten gallons of water will do the job for 1/2 acre but you'll have to let it regrow a little first to get a decent kill. Let it regrow for two weeks or more and spray it.

You can plow it without killing it first but you will have some grass growing back up through the plowing. Then you'll have to deal with it again.

What do you want plant? We are planning on planting a similar piece with alfalfa. It was recommended that we cut and bale what's there as low as possible and no till our seed in after hitting it with some roundup to burn some of the grass off.

I've been trying to plow doesn't plow real well don't get stuck but doesn't turn over sod like it should was planning on just trying to kill off burning nettle maybe throw down some acorns or black walnut seeds and see what happens there is about 200 acres of low land connected to this piece this is just a trial run
