OT - Speaking of school buses

I ran across this old picture that I took in 1985, in a trailer park in Southern Illinois. The guy who lived in this thing nearly had his Medical Doctor's degree completed. He was a darn good kid - rode an ancient BMW motorcycle everywhere he went, summer or winter, and rain or shine. He could stretch a buck until you could see through it, out of necessity. Don't know where he is today, but I'll bet he's successful in whatever he's doing.

I'm into some of the RV Bus Conversions and attended some Bus Nuts rallys, especially A Flxible, one of the best lookin buses ever. (see Dave Langs, he gave me a personal tour). However anytime I see a Model B Mack or a White Super Power or a REO Bus, I get weak in the knees and really really want to convert one

That is truly a sharp looking bus John. The details are amazing.

I always liked the B model Mack trucks - there were still a lot of them in use when I was a young man.

When I was a kid,Dad and four other guys had one on a lot up north. We went up there on vacation every summer. They drove that one up there,150 miles, took the body off and sat it on the ground for a cabin, then drove the chassis back home sitting on a wooden crate.
One thing I remember distinctly was that to fill the rear fender holes where it sat on the ground, they had a big round Oldsmobile sign cut in half and tucked half up in each side. That sign in one piece now would probably be worth more than they got for that acre of land when they sold it.
