Have an armadillo visiting my property at night. I want to trap it. What do they eat? What is some thing to put in the trap to attract it. Once I get it, it will get a one way trip, never to bother anything again.
 
Grubs if you can get them. They dig triangular shaped holes anywhere from one to four inches deep looking for grubs and worms.

If not, try some corn.
 
My friend had one that would dig up his sweet corn seed with little holes like Nancy mentioned. He never was able to get a drop on it, and it finally got hit on the highway in front of his place. Someone else said that you need a stout live trap to hold one. Let us know how it works out.

At least we don't have bears prowling around, ha!
 
They are nearly blind and very stupid. It wouldn't take very much effort to walk up to one and wack him on the head with a hammer.
 
I don"t think they can be lured into a trap. Prop boards to direct it into the trap. It has a hole nearby,find it and go from there. They normaly dig their den under a stump,piece of machinery,building or such. String wire 8" above ground and attach cow bell to alert you to bring shotgun.

You might try laying a piece of blacktop in the trap. They seem to like it very well as that's where we see most of them. :lol:
 
Grubs and earthworms. Very hard to trap. As others have said boards or sheets of coragated metal to funnell them in the trap. 12ga with #4 shot is my method. Shot 13 so far this year.
 
As has been said on other threads about armadillos, DO NOT touch them with bare hands- 5 to 10% of them carry leprosy, which is something you don't want to get.
