I am nearly done refurbishing (Not restoring) my 1940 9N . I have to scrap the two doglegs and the grill since they are rusted out and have been tack welded many times. I have new legs and a new grill. I cannot find a 9N to look closely at... so I am not sure how the doglegs and grill are fastened to the frame. It seems that there are only two bolts (3/8")... at the bottom of each leg that bolt to the bottom of the grill, and two bolts on each leg that fasten the legs to the hood on the sides. Then the grill has two spring detents that fit into the hood. Does the hood simply rest on the top of the radiator with the "cushion" around the fill neck supporting it? It would seem that the bottom of the legs should bolt to the frame or radiator somewhere for stability, but I do not see where. Possibly there's a bracket missing? Any help (including photos) will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Michael~
