O/T Muffler with 1-1/4 pipe thread

Any ideas on where to find a muffler with 1-1/4" male NPT on one end? It"s for an R/V generator, and I"d rather not use a clamp-on muffler.

Have you checked with a local small engine shop, or parts supplier? I found a rather large muffler at TSC a couple years back, but can't remember if it was that large.

You might want to just get an original muffler from a dealer. Generic mufflers are cheaper, but they are also noisier. A noisy generator is not a good thing in a crowded campground.

1-1/4 pipe thread is the standard size for two
cylinder Wisconsin engine Exhausts. A "STANLEY"
exhaust catalog at my local "Blains Farm-Fleet"
store, (Wisconsin) lists a muffler for 2 cylinder
engines, it has 1-1/4 pipe threads, but is more
of a spark arrester than a muffler. I found a
muffler at a farm supply store that was slightly
under sized for a 1-1/4 male pipe nipple, I bought
several pipe nipples and had a local machine shop
skin one end of the nipples, until it just slid
into the muffler. Works great !

A muffler for a Wisconsin will fit BUT - It will be quite loud for use in an RV. You may want to get one from manufacturer.

Have you thought about getting a piece of pipe threaded on one for 1-1/4 inch and find a muffler that has a 1-1/4" ID inlet and welding it to pipe?

Thanks for all the replies! This generator is in an equipment display truck, so noise isn"t as much of an issue as it would be in a motorhome, but it"s too loud without a muffler. I can weld a nipple on a muffler, and would probably have more options that way, but would prefer one that"s already threaded. I"ll follow up on your suggestions.
