I own a Long r9500 Special, tractor runs greatand in decent shape. Looking for a frontend loader but I have no idea what to look for. Not much reference material for this tractor. Would appreciate advice.

Must be a newer one, I don't recall that number from the blue and white Romanian-built ones in the 70's. I guess the Long name is still being used, but I have no idea of who makes them or what they actually are.

Best thing is to take some measurments off your tractor- height, distance from front of front frame to rear axle, size of rear tires. Then look around at tractors of about the same dimensions, and note what make and model loaders they have.

Easiest to mount are the older, non-quick detach type, that bolt to the front of the tractor (usiing the bolt holes where you would normally attach a weight bracket) and with U-bolts to the underside of the back axle. The later loaders, and the quick-detach varieties, need a set of threaded holes amidships, and you would need to make a set of adapters.

You could check with current loader manufacturers, to see if they have brackets for your tractor, but if you're talking new, you'll end up spending big $$$.

definitely cheaper to buy another tractor with a loader on it. It's also a good excuse to buy another tractor! (as if any of us need one)

The R9500 is a Landini with a Perkins 354 engine. Massey Ferguson owned Landini when those tractors were built. Seems like most any loader designed for a 90+ horse tractor would work.
