Fraserburgh is along the North coast of Aberdeen and is a fishing harbour...The boats were in harbour as the sea was quite rough...

Yet inside the harbour was like a mill pond...

Along from the town, there was a bit more surf....

Waves crashing on the outer sea wall.....

A lot of the stubble ground has been ploughed in readiness for spring barley for malting to make whiskey.....

Plenty of silage bales sitting in the fields, indicates it has been a mild winter!

I watched an episode of Globe Trekker on PBS Sunday. The host was with a concert vioilinist who was playing a slow classice song on the violin on the shore of a body of water in Scotland. The water was calm and in just a little while seals came popping up to the surface and watched the musician and listened to the music.

The violin must have had a frequency that the seals could hear. The seemed to be very interested in the music. They kept popping up to listen; I guessed at least 40 were visible in the water.

The reason I went to Aberdeen at ths time was because it was forecast to rain and I could not get on with work at home.....The forecast was correct!

Sam, what are those excavator looking devices on the
trawlers for? I was raised around boats & none of
the trawlers that I've ever seen had anything like
that on them.

Doc

probably useful for off-loading the fish on to the dock and maybe even for helping lift the last bit of net out of the water?
You are talking to a tractor man here, Doc.....I am only guessing!

Thanks, as always. What do the blue / white flags painted along starboard side indicate?
