Is there a way to check year tire was made?

Tire guys I deal with can read it in the serial number printed on the tire.

All (I believe) tires have a date code on side wall. Bunch years ago while working at Sears tire center I was able to get a set brand new Pirelli tires rated at 150 MPH as date code said past shelf life. Paid $5 for each tire. Put many miles on them in 5 years.
Last yr replaced rear tires on my 2N with date code 10/68. They were only 8 yrs younger than me LOL

Three digit code close to the bead, first two are the week of the year built, and the last is the last year, example {191 would be the 19th week of(this is the fun part) the 1 could be 31,41,51,61,71,etc. The newer tires have a four digit code, so you only have to guess the century.
