Question for road tractor drivers/equipment haulers

This spring I picked up a truck, and a OOOLD Phelan lowboy. After a sphincter tightening adventure this fall trying to move my combine, I desperately need to add a set of swingout outriggers to my trailer. I have searched all the major trailer manufactures on the web, and have came up with nothing! On the Eager Beaver site I did find a part number for the outrigger, and bracket, but there was no description(height/lenght when out/etc) or price. Surely some one makes a kit where I can buy a set of them, and weld them on, or even buy them piece by piece. I suppose I could make my own, but I would much rather find them and weld them on. If you guys could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Try Leach Enterprises They list outriggers for Talbert trailers for about $30 a piece plus mounts

Would it be cheaper to trade trailers? I have an OLD Load Trail that is about 34' long that has about a 4' beaver tail. Some one put hyd ramps on that were about 8' long for hauling something with tracks. It has bushings that the back axles pivots on. I bought it for $2K and spent another $250 on a 3" oak floor. We use it for a nurse tank with a 3200 gallon tank and chemicals. It is heavy and had outriggers.

When I started hauling machinery again after I got out of the Army in 1966, A guy by the name of Jim Shives at Melvin, IL I think, made a combine trailer out of channel and angle iron. One of first around. Bud Taylor who I worked for at Mahomet had one. They were flimsy but worked.

Be a copy cat- they"re just common mild steel. Check the dimensions and fab your own, weld them on. I widened my machine trailer twice, now to 106 inches, then built an outrigger to carry a special load to tractor shows.
