Hot New John Deere

Allen it is usually an electrical fire that then gets the hydraulic or fuel oil going. I have seen all brands of the new one do that. Some models are worse than others but they all will do it.

There actually have been two late Fords burn around here. I don't know of any CIH or JD locally burning. I have seen some service bulletins on some models of JD 8000 R series that have had some electrical shorts.

The older fire prone ones usually had a mechanical issue that made them burn. An example was the FORD bi directionals. They would leak oil at the swivel point under the cab. Then they would get hay/chaff and catch fire.

There was a barn full of hay and 1 JD tractor not far from here, till it looked like that one(no power to the shed)

Bird nests get a few every spring around here, they can build a nest in just a day or two. They don't care how old or what color.

Some kind of fluid; burning up along side the road like that. Neighbor had one go up from a leaking hydraulic line spewing hot oil.

Hi
The only down side to this is somebody had to come put it out and clean the mess up L.O.L
Never been a Deere fan and any day theres one less is a plus to me.
Hopefully nobody was hurt that will make the day better as well.
A guy I know nearly died when his SG2 cabbed Deere went up. was pretty quick and he only just got out the cab in time.
Regards Robert

My tile guy's Polaris Razor wiring caught my corn field on fire and his machine. Burnt the wiring off the Razor but he got his computer and GPS out. He was doing a TOPO. Now he wished he had let it burn because it took 3 weeks to get the parts. I told him I had matches!

Does anyone know of a fire extinguisher with a magnet so it could be moved from tractor to tractor and does not put in any additional holes

well, but think about it, it didn't start out a conflagration like that, it started out a small fire that could have been put out. If Only. That's why I don't care if I drill extra holes in my fenders or anywhere, I always carry the biggest ABC extinguisher I can, in the easiest place to get to.
