MH44 EFI choke

I got it to cold start tonight.

I added a prime push button, pushed it in for about a second and gas ran out the carb. It only took about 1/2 second of prime during cranking and it fired right up.

The computer is limited to 65ms prime and 32ms crank pulse on the injector. It is not exact, but a lot easier than fighting with fuel tables and injector timing.

I still have the carb on it, but the fuel is turned off to it.

I do not understand all that you are telling us! But I know that it is nice to get in a vehicle and just turn the key and it goes.!

A process timer (PLC) module could be controlled by ambient temperature and engine temperature signal (in conflict) to adjust primer injector MS of operation. One issue of importance is control voltage while cold cranking some electronics become erratic or non-operational with less than X volts, or with motor static in the feed lines. Your work is very interesting. Jim

I was told to turn the key on and then off and on again if you want more fuel to be injected in on computer controlled autos. Every time the key is turned on the injectors shoot fuel in to prime.

The on-off-on just pressures the fuel lines, no injection without crank sensor showing the crankshaft is turning.

Some Nissans and others use a smaller cold start injector seperate from the main injectors to richen up cold starts, that could be made to work . It just fires into the plenum .
