Off Topic Protemp heater Question

I have a Protemp PT-100V-GFA heater and I looked a trouble shooting on the internet but with very little luck.
Question I have is when I push the knob in and hold position to light the heater it seems to take forever to take a hold to release the knob.
Now it's gotting so bad I changed the thermo switch hoping this was the problem.
I still have the same problem as before so either i got a new switch buy chance thats bad or I have another problem else where?
This has the electronic board inside the unit.
Thanks for your time and help on this subject.
Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to you.
Mike

I always have to hold the button for a loooooong time on my heater the first light of the season, I assume that it is because the propane dissipates in the line. Anyplace that yours could be leaking?

sounds to me like the pilot flame is too low, it has to heat up the thermocoupler before it fires. I am sure there is a "pilot adjust" screw somewhere. the adjust may have a flat screwdriver plug that will be removed and then either a very small screwdriver or an allen wrench to adjust. light pilot, watch closely, turn adjustment slightly to right. flame should impinge on thermo. should work. good blow out is a once a year maintainance thing, good idea.
