40 miles north of the Va., Carolina state line in the middle of Va. and it's 15 here. Just ain't no sense in it being this cold this early. LOL

24 here in Oconee. Looks like winter time in the 10 day forecast. Believe it or not, we need the rain they are predicting. Just hope it IS rain.

You guys need to move north to Iowa where it is a balmy 27 degrees with a little snow mixed in.

40 in the AZ desert - too cold to walk outside so we're going to walk the mall pretty soon.

Need rain here too. Having forest fires in this area every week for the past 3 weeks. Wettest summer on record which was great but when it stopped it's very dry now. Most ponds and down several feet.

RM, Where are ya? I am 5 miles from Carolina line in Mecklenburg Co. 18 degrees here at 5AM. Time to cut my cauliflower and close out garden for the year!

Six degrees here on the NY-CAN borders this morning with up to 2 inches of snow on the ground. Sunny though and warming a little. I believe 16 degrees in the Carolinas is like 20 below here. Go sit by the fire and enjoy. LOL

9 degrees this morning and 10 yesterday morning.
Did not get above 23 all day yesterday and the wind blew all day. Winter ain't even here yet and I'm already sick of it!! LOL
Got about 4" snow in the last two days.
Upstate New York, 50 Miles West of Albany.

I"m about 8 miles from the Charlotte Motor Speedway, out in Cabarrus County. The thermometer on my back window read 24 when I left to take my daughter to daycare around 6:30 this morning.

If we don't have an early Spring it's going to be a loooooong winter, have a huge dent in the wood pile already!! Suppose to get above freezing here today.

Was 20 on my porch this AM. That's in WNC.
Looking for some ice tonight/tomorrow and then freezing rain. BTW what's the difference?
Either way we end up with frozen stuff on everything. Folks with snow don't have to deal with this stuff. Happens almost every year. ICE!

We were in the high 20s yesterday too and that was about a 30 degree improvement from the few days previous. It felt warm enough to go out and replace the leaking water pump on the Cockshutt 40. I knew I needed a warm day to work in the unheated Quonset with bare hands and yesterday was it. Now I'm ready for the "real" cold weather to start.

RMinVA,
You near Sutherland, VA, home of Jimmy Olger"s store?
We went thru there 6 wks ago while chasing Gen"l Lee to Appomattox. Jimmy sings a good "Carry me back to Ol" Virginy".

I agree, Mike! Last winter was long enough (ice fishing on fishing opener in May makes for great memories, though!)

I am fortunate enough to live in a townhome (or unfortunate considering my tractor and motorcycle hobbies!). My heat costs are pretty low. Wish I had a wood burning stove for the garage though!

Keep warm everyone!
